Experience
Over the past two decades as a lawyer I have been involved in hundreds of shipping disputes in arbitrations, mediations, the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Admiralty Court.
Who I Act For
I have worked for P&I/FDD and H&M insurers, shipowners, charterers, commodity traders, cargo insurers / underwriters, cargo recovery agents and ship brokers.
Areas of Practice
During my experience I have been involved in the full spectrum of shipping disputes from charterparty and shipbuilding contract disputes to claims under sale contracts, bills of lading, the ICA and LOIs to collisions, casualties and general average claims.
I have also acted in high value transactional matters concerning shipbuilding contracts, sale and purchase agreements and super yacht sale and purchases. That experience is of great assistance when dealing with disputes involving such transactions and contracts.
Industry Insight
During my career I also gained invaluable experience of the shipping insurance industry whilst working in-house at an International Group P&I Club. That experience provided unique insight into the needs, requirements and pressures faced by shipping insurers when facing complex and high value disputes.
Qualifications
I am a solicitor of England & Wales, a supporting member of the LMAA, a member of the Baltic Exchange, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the London Court of International Arbitration and a member of the Society of Mediators.
